About
Founded in 2017
Spirit Night Coven (SNC) was founded in the spring of 2017 in Clarkston, Washington, by Lady Katie Bug and Witch Jake. Lady Katie Bug currently serves as the High Priestess of the Coven.
Originally a close-knit, grassroots group of family and friends interested in the Craft, SNC has since evolved into a thriving Coven of 20+ active members. It is now a registered non-profit in the state of Washington and hosts ceremonial gatherings for all eight major Sabbats on the Wheel of the Year.
Membership is highly selective to preserve the harmony and integrity of the group dynamic. Applications are accepted only during September and October each year.
Our Purpose
Spirit Night Coven is a non-profit charity, operated exclusively for educational and charitable purposes as defined under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
The purpose of Spirit Night Coven is to foster spiritual connection, shared values, and personal growth among its members, with a focus on the spirituality of Wicca and Witchcraft, based on our Articles of Belief.
Our Philosophy
We believe in the right to autonomy, the right to marry and love freely, and the right to be pro-choice. We affirm that Black and Indigenous lives matter, and we stand for (trans) women’s rights, LGBTQIA+ rights, and uphold a zero-tolerance policy for sexual violence.
Our spiritual foundation is rooted in the Wiccan Rede, the cycles of the Moon, the Wheel of the Year, karma, the Three-Fold Law, and a path of spiritual eclecticism. We strive to live in harmony with both the natural and spiritual worlds, guided by respect, reverence, and personal growth.
We do not worship negative entities such as demons, Satan, or Lucifer, as these are constructs of Christian theology and not part of our belief system. We believe that religion, magick, and wisdom are interconnected, and we honor the Celtic Gods and Goddesses, Quarter and Elemental Spirits, and the Entities and Spirits of the Supernatural World.
We believe that no single religion or spiritual path is superior to another, and we do not condone animal or human sacrifice, as it goes against one of our core principles: “An it harm none, do what ye will.”
